It's not clothes, but it's so pretty...

b
I am writing my thesis. Yeah I know. So I keep saying :P

I went and bought myself some flowers to have by my desk while I write. I bought these guys from a specialist florist round the corner from my place.

These have to the loveliest, most unusual lilies I have ever seen. And ridiculously indulgent of me to (don't ask). I fell for them badly, and picked out the figs (the green fruit like things with branchy things) and the gymea leaves to go with them.

flowers make me happy. :)

Yes, I have been $hopping.

YAY! I finally took pics of my goodies! I got the shoes in Spore. The rest are from Malaysia ('cept the Warehouse top).

SHOES
Flats that are practical to walk in. I do like these shoes. Wanted to get them in camel and white as well. But didn't. It so screams "Fashion Victim!" if I do.

Was supposed to be a practical buy. But they hurt my feet. Traipsing around the shoe store trying them out does not equate to walking frm home - mr t - mrt - mrt - office -
mr t - mrt - mrt - home. At times like these, I miss driving. Sigh.

Inspired by Jadey's post. Hers are way sexier. They hurt my feet too! But really does elongate my legs.

I have more shoes. Aldo platforms with wooden heels and the butternut yellow Miu Miu sequined ballerina flats that I facebooked about (plus 4 pairs of flats I got for work). Left them in Spore. Will post them up later.

DRESSES

MINT jodi arnold silk & linen babydoll bulb dress with puffed sleeves and scalloped hem. My dad said I looked fat in this dress. Luckily, my mom said: "You have to get it coz it looks so cute on you." So I got it. Am glad I did. Love the pockets!

Marc Jacobs black sundress with embellished bib and pink trim. This is super cute!!!

Marc Jacobs silk cheongsam with embroidered
hem. Saw this lovely dress hanging on the rack and wanted it so bad (great for Chinese New Year!) but it was a dress size too big (last piece). Made an emergency call to Mom. The plan was for her to get it, wear it once and have it altered to fit me after (how cunning... hehe). It looked too good on her and I couldn't bear to butcher it for me. So now this fabulous find is Mom's. Sigh. At least it's hanging in my wardrobe (which Mom hijacked after I moved to Spore!).

TOPS

Warehouse sheer shirt. A pressie frm my aunt in London. Goes well with my 3.1 phillip lim paperbag pants (will post them up later, left them in Spore.)

Badgley Mischka embroidered bordello jacket. Have not given any thoughts on what to wear it with, but got it anyway coz it was on sale. The embroidery is sorta Indian influenced.

One Teaspoon cropped biker denim jacket. Love, love, love this jacket! It goes well with everything!

Marc Jacobs black cotton jacket with pink satin eyelets. The shell is black cotton with eyelets punched out but the lining is in pink satin.

Marc Jacobs
embroidered jacket with puff sleeves. A fluke purchase. Was paying for the rest of the stuff at the counter when I saw a poster with the model wearing this jacket (in grey) and was like "Hey this is a nice jacket!" Well, they had it in store. So I got them.

Anna Sui white cotton jacket with "paper cut" flowers.

Am still missing a couple of pieces. A Moschino Cheap & Chic
embroidered top and Marc Jacobs silk shantung black & white checkered cropped jacket. Will post them up tmrw!

Miss you girlies! Muah Muah!

I had to get shoes before CNY

You know about that whole no buying shoes during the CNY period rule yes? I panicked when I remembered... I haven't bought shoes in 3 months! So i set out yesterday to buy shoes. 30 minutes later... (this was a lot easier than I thought :D )

John Fluevogs... comfy as. Like chie mihara, he makes comfy adorable shoes. That's not a stacked wood heel, but a leather laminate, which is less exciting but still fantastic.

here comes the horrible part, I dropped some super glue onto the heel :( .. I panicked, tried to rub it off, and got some tissue fibres trapped into it. I've tried to fix it. and its not too bad now. but I am SUCH a dumb arse.

Update!

Here's the dress I said I'd post ages ago...
I have overexposed the pics to show you the bead detail.... I like wearing it front to back, with the the beading at the back. And I love the scalloped mermaid tail skirt!

I wore it to my birthday dinner with the boy. we both love food, and we don't give each other presents, but take each other out to a ridiculously swanky restaurant for some divine food... For his birthday, I took him out to a 13 course degustation thing. yums.

and on my way to pick up a pair of sunglasses (I left mine in NZ somewhere, and can you believe I lost 2 pairs in 2008? this is why I don't buy $$$ sunnies... I am retainership challenged ) I found this sweet sweet bangle. It's a vintage repro, and a rip-off Kenneth Jay Lane design (who is vintage inspired anyway..). I want more... *purrr*

Mon dieu...so beautiful men do exist

Tales of the night

I think you can safely blame the latest fascination with black lace on Prada. I love the intrigue and subversiveness that it brings out.

This I bought almost 2 months ago but never got around to photographing...

This was a newer find - last week - Monday or Tuesday (oh the perils of finishing work early). I also bought a pair of pants that are a cross between jodphurs and drop crotch trousers but they are quite impossible to photograph in any mildly flattering manner so I've given up on posting them.

This I got together with the dress with the massive i-am-a-prehistoric-bird sleeves. You can't really tell from the photo but it's a puffball skirt and befitting of a little princess tyrant *stomp*stomp*

shoulder holster

i've found myself in a bit of a funk lately - i've been uninspired by what i've seen in the shops, i've become bored with all my music...nothing has made my stomach flutter, nothing has challenged me.
and on one such evening i trawled the usual suspects while waiting for the rain to stop and the traffic madness to die down when i came across this dress with amazing architectural sleeves. and just like that my faith in design has been rekindled.
