Spoils I

So. I  have gotten off my lazy arse and present you with pics of my acquisitions from Japan. I can't load all the pics into one post so I have to set them out in installments.  I bought:

1) a Chanel bag

2) nylon Prada sling bag

3) a chocolate brown YSL sweater - it has little shoulder pads which give my shoulders extra definition without bringing back the horror of the 80s...

Franz Ferdinand

I know it's a little late to jump on the band wagon (pun unintentionally intended) but I've been rather obsessed with these boys...their third album debuts next year. I say, bring it on!

Japan

Hey girls, I too have dropped some serious moolah because I went to Japan! KJ and I started off in Hiroshima, then on to Kyoto (which, for the record, is lovely) and finally Tokyo (nothing short of amazing).  It's impossible to explore Tokyo without being inspired. Anyway, Kyoto and Tokyo are filled with heaps of great vintage and thrift stores which I plundered with zeal. Photos of my spoils to follow but they include the perfect-netted-vintage hat, Chanel and a fabulous YSL jumper with shoulder pads.

Blame it on the thesis

So I got into a huge deep-blue thesis-funk last Thursday. I scheduled an emergency haircut for Friday morning, and slunk off to the boy's on Thursday night for some cuddles (and Thai beef salad. The boy rocks in the kitchen)

At the hairdresser, I pouted hard enough, Park (hairdresser) relented and gave me the fringe I've wanted for 8 months. I now have an eyelash (yes, that's right.. eyelash) skimming fringe, and look more like an anime cartoon than ever. The boy is delighted... *roll eyes*. so revamped, I walked out of the salon, and past a swanky shoe store... and found myself inside before I realised it :P

so many pretty shoes.... I ended up buying two pairs (on sale... I could never ever afford the non-sale prices on these babies...) One is on layby. here's the one that came home with me:

yes, they are ridiculously high (almost 5 inches). It appears when i am miserable, I tend to go for super killer heels... and yes, i have fallen over once already (it was dark and i didn't see the big slippery rock).

And here's what I received in the mail a few weeks ago. I love them... they zip up at the back. I love that raspberry tubular strap.... The only thing that makes me slightly sad is the fact that I have skinny feet with very low arches, and so one of the straps that go across my foot is loose :(
I got them on sale. They originally retailed for an obscene amount in USD... which I refuse to publicly disclose. I also refuse to say how much i ended up forking over. Its all too mortifying... the depths of my shoe-whoredom.
I say bring on summer!
Pictures of second shoes to follow in two weeks... and perhaps DrQ colourblock handbag I recently acquired :D

shoes on the menu

These were one of my lunch-time buys, i.e. instead of satiating my tummy, I satiated my shoe lust instead...
I have made quite a number of new acquisitions over the last couple of weeks but my photography skills and the poor lighting leave much to be desired.  The easiest items to photograph are shoes so I think I'll just stick to those for now....new posts to follow shortly!

Confessions of a shoe slut: If the shoe fits....

Ok... There were requests for these babies to be posted...

Apologies for shoddy camera job, am still trying to work out lighting and angles... I'm not sure you can see them, but the heel are triangular in shape, and sky high.

I ran up stairs with them (had to catch my connecting train), and I don't recommend doing that! When I boarded the train... I gave some poor old granny a heart attack...
Here I was, on a Saturday night a suddenly very tall demurish-looking Asian thing, with not a scrap of skin showing... who was wearing
hooker shoes and in RED ...She seemed so confused...

and yes, those are thick sexy granny wool tights I am wearing in the pictures. Have you ANY idea how cold it is here right now? Ice formed in my backyard overnight.

well... that was quick...

Remember how I said I would not be buying anything until I bought my bag... *er* *ahem* Done.

My sweet, sweet mother has come out in support of my thesis writing throes, by tracking down for me the Marc by Marc Jacobs DrQ Colorblock Hillier (see bag post. It's the red bag) in KL, when my ebay stalking came out fruitless. My aunt was doubtful it was the correct bag I was lusting after "but your daughter HATES pink!"

It has a smidgen of pink, I'll admit, but it's mostly luscious luscious, colour-saturated maroon red... patent scarlet leather goodness...

Again, will post pictures when bag appears at my doorstep. And NO MORE acquisitions for me for a v.long time! I have to recover from paying for the bag, and the shoes below (which incidentally go well together).

I hate writing my thesis... All this thinking, and reasoning, and "intellectualising" It makes me an even bigger shopping fiend that usual :(

*dammit* I bought shoes AGAIN, instead of bag...

*wail* I had earmarked my ebay refund money to buy myself a bag, but then I found these little babies... alessandro dell'acqua from 740 knocked down to 240. I HAD to have them.

I don't care that it is too cold right now to wear them, or that they are pale coloured, and are fiendish dirt-magnets. Bottom line, they are beautiful and I will love them forever. Will take better pictures once I have them for real in my greedy little hands.

I cannot wait for summer to wear them; perfect 'formal' sandals too... if there was ever such a thing. Have two months to plan/acquire outfits worth of their strappy-goodness. :D

I swear... I will buy nothing else, until I finally get my bag:D

A little ringing~~

My newest ring!
This is the 5th ring I made so far, not the funkiest one of all, but has enough edge to be called unconventional and still had some sort of classy feel to it that didnt cry extravagant to be worn to the office.
